The other day I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. The picture was taken in a popular restaurant in Disney World and quite a few people knew which one.
You can find the wall display in Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Contemporary is on the monorail loop and guests dining at Chef Mickey’s can see the monorail go by as they eat. The restaurant is open, which is why you can see the monorail pass by while inside the restaurant. You can also see the huge Mary Blair mural in the Contemporary from inside Chef Mickey’s.
The wall display is an example of the decor that is seen throughout the restaurant. Bright colors, including Mickey’s signature colors, are also present throughout the restaurant, including at the food stations. These bright colors and wall decorations add a fun and playful feel to the atmosphere.
Chef Mickey’s is an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet that is open for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. There are different stations with a variety of food to choose from and each meal time will have different options to offer.
Breakfast
Items include seasonal melons and fruits, smoked salmon, yogurt parfaits, quinoa salad, carving stations, a western scramble, tofu scramble with spinach, bacon, biscuits and gravy, Chef’s Hash, and a create-your-own waffle station. There are also some choices for kids and a sweet treat area with danishes, turnovers, muffins, crisped rice treats, and donut holes.
Brunch
Items include things like poached shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, seasonal salad selection, yogurt parfaits, roasted turkey, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, western scramble, bacon breaks, soup of the day, vegetables, pot roast, and create-your-own waffle station. There’s also a station with food for kids and a station for dessert items.
Dinner
Items include salad, poached shrimp cocktail, charcuterie board, fruit salad, carving station, buttered chicken, glazed salmon, pot stickers, seafood paella, soup, pasta, vegetables, breads, pot roast, and smashed potatoes. There’s also a dessert station, as well as a create-your-own ice cream sundae, and a station with food for the kids.
Character Interaction
Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy walk around visiting tables while guests enjoy their meals. This is a great opportunity to get signatures and take some fun pictures with the characters.
Chef Mickey’s is a very popular restaurant and advanced reservations are strongly recommended. The biggest draw is the character interaction, as is the case with any character dining meal. Kids and adults alike love being able to see their favorite characters as they enjoy their meal, rather than waiting in line in the parks.
Thanks to everyone who played along this week and congratulations to those that knew where the wall display is located! We’ll play again next Wednesday!
Have you been to Chef Mickey’s?
Thanks for reading!
