Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some good guesses, but four people knew where to find the gazebo.
Congratulations to Caroline, John and Carol, Kathleen, and Disney Dennis, who all knew the gazebo can be found at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. This resort shares the area with Disney’s Beach Club Resort, which means restaurants and shops for both resorts are close, no matter which resort you are staying in. The resorts also share a pool, but it’s big enough that it doesn’t matter. Stormalong Bay is basically a little water park with a sand bottom pool, a lazy river, a ship wreck themed water slide, and couple of whirl pools. There’s a reason this is one of, if not the most, popular pool on property.

Also at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a the Yachtsman Steakhouse. It’s been a few years since we’ve eaten here, but the last time we were there the food was delicious. It’s definitely what you would call a splurge restaurant, but if it’s something that’s in the budget I would look at the menu and see if it’s something you’re interested in. The menu changes from time to time, so it’s probably different from the last time I was there, but anytime we’ve been it’s been good. Plus, if you finish dinner before the fireworks start in EPCOT, you can head to the bridge and watch them from outside the park.
This area is one of our favorite places to stay, because it includes the BoardWalk area. Between the side with the Yacht and Beach Club and the BoardWalk Inn, there’s enough to keep you busy for a bit. It’s fun to do the loop and walk around the area, or take one of the Friendship boats for a ride. One of the best times of day to wander the area, in my opinion, is first thing in the morning. It’s not hot yet, the boats are just starting to run, and there aren’t a lot of people around. It’s a calming way to start the day.
Congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the gazebo and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon. Do you like to visit the area where the Yacht Club is?
Thanks for reading!
Liz
