Current Refurbishment List for Walt Disney World

Disney World us always updating and refreshing things. So throughout the year there will be different closures or hotel construction announcements.

When planning a Disney World vacation, it’s good to know if anything will be closed or if your planned hotel will have construction while you are there. Below is the refurbishment list as it is shown on Walt Disney World’s website.

Theme Park Refurbishment Schedule

Magic Kingdom

Carousel of Progress: Located in Tomorrowland, this classic attraction closed for a reimagining of the ride on July 6, 2026 and will reopen sometime in 2027.

Tom Sawyer Island: Permanently closed for the construction of Cars Land

Walt Disney World Railroad: The Frontierland station has been closed and will remain closed until the Villains Land expansion is complete. There is a shuttle that runs between the Main Street U.S.A. station and the Frontierland station.

EPCOT

Coral Reef Restaurant: Temporarily closing on September 8, 2026 and will reopen later this year.

La Signature: Located in the France Pavilion, this cosmetic and fragrance shop closed on June 29, 2026 and will reopen later this year. Looking for Guerlain merchandise? Guests will find Guerlain at Plume Et Palette during the closure.

Hollywood Studios

Monstropolis: Construction for this new area is ongoing. The new area is expected to open in 2027.

Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie: This attraction temporarily closed on August 9 and will reopen later this year.

Animal Kingdom

Tropical Americas: Construction for this new land is ongoing and will open to guests in 2027.

Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Beginning September 9, 2026 Typhoon Lagoon will temporarily close for routine maintenance.

Blizzard Beach Water Park

Slush Gusher: This attraction is temporarily unavailable

Resort Hotel Refurbishment List

All-Star Movies Resort

• Donalds’s Double Feature is currently undergoing a phased refurbishment. According to Disney, the refurbishment should be done by late August, so any day now it should be complete.
• Resort hotel guest rooms are currently undergoing a planned refurbishment and will continue through January 2027. Guests staying here during this time may see or hear construction. There may also be alternate paths to use during construction.

Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village

Refurbishment on the lobby and nearby areas began on August 17. The work is expected to be completed by early November and there is a timeline in place for closures during construction.

• August 17 – October 9: The main lobby and primary entrance will be closed. During this time period, check-in will take place at Palace Library.
• August 17 – 28: Johari Treasures will be closed
• September 28 – October 9: The north side of the lobby corridor will be closed. During this time period the north side lobby elevators on the second floor and the outdoor terrace observation deck will not be available for guest use.
• October 26 – November 6: The south side lobby corridor will be closed. This means that during this time period Community Hall, Safari So Good Arcade, the laundry room, the Palace Library, lobby restrooms, and the outdoor terrace observation deck will not be available for guest use.

Those staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House may also see or hear construction, since the buildings are next to each other.

Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House

Refurbishment on guest rooms is currently underway and continues through January 2027. Guests may hear or see construction during this time.

Art of Animation

The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 24, 2027 – 30, 2027. There will be complimentary bus service for guests during this time.

BoardWalk Inn and BoardWalk Villas

• Now through late 2026 there is refurbishment going on in certain areas. Due to this, the Village Green courtyard is now closed and will be closed through September 4, 2026. Any activities that are normally held on the courtyard will be relocated to other locations throughout the resort.
• From January 11, 2027 through April 2027 the Luna Park Pool, Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations will all be closed for routine maintenance. The quiet pools (Villas Pool and Inn Pool) will be open for resort hotel guests.
• The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 24, 2027 – 30, 2027. There will be complimentary bus service for guests during this time.

Beach Club, Beach Club Villas, and Yacht Club

• Now through mid-September 2026, the lobby at Beach Club Villas is undergoing a phased maintenance. Part of the lobby may be temporarily unavailable and there may be alternate paths in place for guests to use. Guests may see or hear construction during this period.
• Through late 2026 Disney’s Yacht Club is undergoing visible exterior maintenance.
• Beach Club Resort is undergoing visible exterior maintenance through late 2027. This will impact views from different location across the hotel grounds and alternate paths may be put in place for guests.
• Through August 2026 Yachtsman Steakhouse is temporarily closed for refurbishments.
• Now through late August 2026 the FriendShip Boat dock at Yacht Club and Beach Club will be closed for maintenance. Bus transportation will be available to Hollywood Studios. Guests going to EPCOT can use the walkways.
• The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 24 – 30, 2027. There will be complimentary bus service for guests during this time.

Caribbean Beach Resort

The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 24 – 30, 2027. There will be complimentary bus service for guests during this time.

Coronado Springs

• Now through late September 2027 the Convention Center will be under refurbishment. The El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas will also be getting a refurbishment.
• Work will be completed in phases and will take place overnight to help minimize an impacts on daily operations. Guests may see or hear construction during this time period.

Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower

Through late 2027 there will be refurbishment going on throughout areas at the Contemporary, Bay Lake Tower, and the Main Tower atrium. There is also exterior maintenance going on at the Main Tower that may impact views from different locations throughout the resort hotel and alternate paths may be put in place for guests. Guests may see or hear construction during this period.

Cabins at Fort Wilderness and the Campsites at Fort Wilderness

Now through mid-October soil erosion prevention work is taking place along the sidewalk on Big Pine Trail. During this time period there may be alternate paths in place for guests due to roadway detours. No resort amenities will be impacted, but guests may see or hear construction during business hours.

Grand Floridian and The Villas at Grand Floridian

• Renovations are happening through early 2027, this includes the covered entrance. Guests may see or hear work during the day and may need to take alternative routes.
• The Grand Floridian Cafe will temporarily close for a refresh from mid-July through October 2026. Brunch will still be offered during this time period, but will be served at Citricos.
• The large gingerbread house will not be built in the lobby this year.

Old Key West

• Through mid-September 2026 Hospitality House has exterior maintenance going one. Guests may see or hear work during the day and may need to take alternative routes.
• The Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is closed through October 2026. During this time, views from some rooms overlooking the golf course may be impacted.

Polynesian Village Resort, Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

• Refurbishment work will be going on through late 2026 at both Polynesian Village Resort and Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The work includes a reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway. Some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted. Most resort dining, pools, and amenities will remain open.
• Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace is temporarily closed through late October due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House.

Pop Century

The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 24 – 30, 2027. There will be complimentary bus service for guests during this time.

Port Orleans – Riverside

Now through August 2027, guest rooms are being refurbished in phases. The refurbishment takes place throughout the resort, so guests may see or hear the construction.

Riviera Resort

The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 24 – 30, 2027. There will be complimentary bus service for guests during this time.

Saratoga Springs

Now through Fall 2026 the resort is undergoing refurbishments, including the porte-cochere (the covered arrival area) and Treehouse Villas. Guests may see or hear construction during the day. During the refurbishment certain areas will be closed:

• The Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed from late August through late September 2026. The Turf Club Lounge will remain open during this time.
• Tennis and basketball courts will be closed from late August through November 2026.
• The Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is closed through October 2026. During this time, views from some rooms overlooking the golf course may be impacted.

Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas, and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

Wilderness Lodge, including Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, are currently undergoing an exterior refurbishment. Work should be complete in late 2026. Most amenities will remain available, but guests may have obstructed views in some areas and may see or hear the construction during the day.
