Toy Story Land is officially open and the crowds have descended on Hollywood Studios. If you are not careful, you could end up spending your whole day just waiting in lines. Here are some tips on how to avoid that.
I spent today at Hollywood Studios in hopes that they would have a soft opening. After waiting for a good portion of the day (and chatting with some really nice people) they finally let us in!
Disney is going to be streaming another fun event later this week. With Toy Story Land opening to everyone on Saturday, it makes sense that this next live stream would include the new land.
We are less than a week away from the opening of Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios and the excitement is building. Little things keep that excitement growing, like the addition of Toy Story Land to the map on the My Disney Experience app.
The question of a Passholder preview for Toy Story Land has been on the minds of many Annual Passholders. There was a preview for Pandora – The World of Avatar, so many guests were hoping for a Passholder preview this time around too.
There is certainly a lot going on in Hollywood Studios these days. Toy Story Land opens in less than a month and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is opening next year (late fall). In addition to all that, Disney has announced the location of the new Star Wars hotel.
This fall Disney will debut a new show at Hollywood Studios. If your kids are a fan of Disney Junior then you might want to check it out.
It’s helpful to know which rides will be down during your vacation, so that’s why the refurbishment list is good to look at before your trip. The latest refurb list is now available on the website and in the Facebook groups.
The refurb list will let you know which rides, shows, and restaurants will be closed during your vacation. During the fall and winter months the water parks will also take turns being closed for complete refurbs each year. So it helps to know dates of when things will be closed.
The latest refurb list shows the closure of Toy Story Mania! for a week, Friendship boat service to Hollywood Studios being unavailable until mid-summer, and the feature pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge being closed for an extended refurbishment.
The Walt Disney World Resort Monorail System may be on modified service and/or routes during the refurb. There will be alternative transportation options available for guests when needed. This refurbishment is ongoing.

We are well over a year before the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but Disney is starting to release more info. An opening season was recently announced and now we’ve been given the name of the village.
While everyone is still anticipating the opening of Toy Story Land, Disney gave us more information about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It’s not an opening date, but more of an opening season for the addition.
