We are well over a year before the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but Disney is starting to release more info. An opening season was recently announced and now we’ve been given the name of the village.
When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens, the name of the village will be Black Spire Outpost. In true Disney fashion there is, of course, a story and a history with the village.
According to Disney, the village is located on the planet Batuu and is a known stop for all sorts of characters in the Star Wars universe. The name, Black Spire Outpost, comes from the area surrounding the village. Petrified remains of ancient trees tower over the village and “stand guard across the river valleys and plains.”
I love that Disney is releasing more information about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This new land looks to be one of the most immersive lands they have ever built, so I don’t think you will need to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it. In the same way I don’t think you need to be a fan of Avatar to enjoy Pandora – The World of Avatar in Animal Kingdom. The lands are so impressive that I think anyone will enjoy walking around and taking in the details.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is scheduled to open at Disneyland in summer 2019 and in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in late fall 2019.
Are you excited for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?
Thanks for reading!
