This new drink is a chocolate shake with bourbon and bacon. It’s one of the new favorites on Disney property and it’s easy to understand why.
Before I left for my most recent trip I had heard about this drink, so it went down on my “must try” list. People were saying how amazing it was, but I honestly was not expecting much. It’s like hearing how great a movie is and then being let down when you finally see it. That’s what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The drink is located in Animal Kingdom by Dinoland U.S.A. Head to Trilo-Bites and you will see Smokey Bones on the menu. The coolest part about ordering the drink, for me, was that I got carded. I can’t tell you the last time that happened, so that already gave me a positive feeling about the drink!
The cast member who made my drink filled it to the top, so I drank a little before picking it up. It was really good! The cast members asked me if I liked it and I gave the a very enthusiastic nod as I continued to drink. They have a few table set up next to Trilo-Bites so I sat down to take a few pictures and enjoy my drink while people watching.
The bacon is candied, so it has a sweet taste with the saltiness of the bacon. Plus, the bourbon goes well with the creamy chocolate shake and it’s topped with whipped cream. This is a really good drink, especially on a warmer day. At $10 it’s not inexpensive, but that’s what happens when you add alcohol to a drink.
This snack stand also has a few other alcoholic beverages, as well as water, fountain drinks, and a plain chocolate shake. They also serve Buffalo Chicken Chips, if you are looking for a snack. Trilo-Bites is located right before The Bone Yard play area over the bridge from Discovery Island to Dinoland U.S.A.
