Animal Kingdom’s newest fast casual restaurant, Satu’li Canteen, is located in Pandora – The World of Avatar. Not only is it the newest restaurant for the park, but it was also the first restaurant to be a part of Mobile Ordering.
On opening day for Pandora, I was lucky enough to see Satu’li Canteen before it got super crowded. After I adopted my banshee I headed over to the newest fast casual restaurant to see what they had to offer.
When I approached the entrance there were cast members waiting with menus. I looked it over and said I wasn’t sure what to get. The cast member suggested the French Toast, she said that it is really good. So I decided that I would go with her recommendation and try the French Toast.
When walking towards the ordering area you will see the there are two lines. One line is for Mobile Ordering and the other line is for those that are going to order in the restaurant. I didn’t get a chance to use the Mobile Ordering option, so I headed over to a cast member at one of the registers. After I placed my order I waited at the counter for my food. Since there were not many people in the restaurant my food came out pretty fast. The cast members behind the counter were so friendly and they too said that the French Toast is really good, so now I was really anticipating trying this breakfast.
After getting my cup and my food I stopped at the drink dispenser and got my drink. Now I was finally ready to sit down and try this French Toast that all the cast members were raving about. Before I could take a bite another cast member told me how good the French Toast is. This meal was starting to have a lot to live up to!
So, did it live up to all the hype? In my opinion it absolutely did. The cinnamon swirl bread they use is delicious, then it’s topped with a blueberry cream cheese dollop (so good!), there is passion fruit anglaise on the side (again, so good!), and it comes with two sausage links. Yum! I would definitely get this meal again, though it is nice to try new things each time you visit. The blueberry cream cheese dollop and the passion fruit anglaise are both so smooth and creamy, they are a very nice accompaniment to the French Toast.
Now for the atmosphere. This is a big dining hall and the decorations keep it true to the theming of the movie Avatar. It is an old mess hall that has been transformed into a dining hall for guests visiting Pandora. There are Na’vi art and cultural items all over the dining hall, so make sure to look all around while you are enjoying your meal. Disney’s attention to detail is definitely present in this restaurant. The feeling you get when you are in Satu’li Canteen is pretty immersive.
There is also ample seating in this fast casual restaurant. There is bench seating and also tables of different sizes to accommodate small groups and big groups. I found the seating to be comfortable.
The cast members who were working at Satu’li Canteen were great. They were friendly, talkative, and helpful. It was a great experience all around.
Take a quick walkthrough of the restaurant below:
I will definitely be returning to Satu’li Canteen. I’m excited to plan another trip and try something new from the fast casual restaurant. Hopefully, this time I’ll be able to try out the Mobile Ordering!
Have you been to Satu’li Canteen yet?
