The monorail bar crawl has been something guests have done for years, it’s nothing new. We even have a guide on the website for it. So it’s no surprise that Disney has taken note of this and has created an event that is designed around the idea of eating and drinking around the monorail loop.
Disney has announced that they will be starting a new event on December 2. It’s called Highway in the Sky Dine-Around and it may sound like something you have already done on your own. However, there are perks that come along with the Disney version of the monorail bar crawl that you don’t get on your own.
The biggest perk for guests experiencing this dining event is probably the priority boarding for the monorail. Think about how crowded the cars can get. Being able to have priority boarding sounds pretty nice.
Just like when you do your own monorail bar/restaurant crawl, the Highway in the Sky Dine-Around will have stops at each monorail resort. Each stop will have different things for guests to try.
Here is the order of stops:
Check-in – The Contemporary Resort
- Where: The Wave…of American Flavors
- What you will have: Welcome Cocktails
Next Stop – The Polynesian Village Resort
- Where: The Polynesian Village Resort
- What you will have: Food and drinks that are inspired by the South Pacific
Next Stop – The Grand Floridian
- Where: Citricos
- What you will have: Entree and Wine Pairing
- Where: The Lobby of The Grand Floridian
- What you will have: Sparkling Wine and Artisanal Cheese
Final Stop – The Contemporary Resort
Where: Private Patio for Fireworks Viewing
What you will have: Desserts, Cordials, and Coffee
The cost is $150, which includes gratuity (tax is extra), so it’s not really a bad deal. I was honestly expecting it to be more than that. If this is something you would be interested in for your trip, you can make reservations by contacting Disney or speaking with a professional vacation planner.
Will you try the Highway in the Sky Dine-Around?
