The Disney universe is made up of so many different characters. However, there are the core characters and one of those characters is celebrating a birthday today.
Happy Birthday to Donald Duck! According to Disney Wiki, today is celebrated as Donald’s birthday because his debut film was released on June 9, 1934, which would make him 82 today. He is best known for having a temper and for being just a tad bit jealous of Mickey’s popularity.
Some other facts about Donald:
- He has a rich uncle (Uncle Scrooge)
- He has three nephews (Huey, Dewey, and Louie)
- Two of his big catch phrases are “What’s the big idea?” and “Aw, phooey!”
- The Donald Duck character was created by Walt Disney
- He is shown in Roger Rabbit on stage with Daffy Duck taking part in a dueling piano show
- Daisy Duck is his girlfriend
- He signs his autographs “Donald Duck #1”
- His first appeared in The Wise Little Hen on June 9, 1934
