This week’s featured photo takes us to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom as seen from the ferry.
I usually take the bus or the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, so seeing this sight is a special treat. You can take the ferry from the parking lot of them Magic Kingdom. From my understanding, Walt Disney didn’t want guests driving up to the park and being able to see the castle from the road or their car. He wanted the arrival at Disney to be special and with Disney transportation. I have to say, it does make it a little more special to arrive by ferry.
It’s fun to arrive by monorail too. The anticipation grows the closer you get to the Magic Kingdom stop. The monorail can also be a nice way to relax in the middle of a busy park day. My friend and I rode the monorail back and forth from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Epcot a few times. We had some time before a lunch reservation and it’s always fun to take a spin around Epcot in the monorail.
If you are looking to take a break inside the park then you can board the Walt Disney World Railroad at one of three stations around the park: Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Main Street U.S.A. The train makes a loop around the entire park and you can even see the Contemporary Resort at points during the ride. There are also fun props that you can spot while you are on the train. If you do the entire park loop on the train it’s about a 20 minute trip, so that’s a good amount of time to relax and get off your feet.
This is one of my favorite pictures from the last trip. It takes me back to the trip and who doesn’t love to take a stroll down memory lane when the memories include Disney World?
What’s your favorite way to arrive at the Magic Kingdom?
Thanks for reading!
