Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. Lots of people were able to get this one this week, congratulations!
The mural is located at Rafiki’s Planet Watch in the Animation Experience area. It’s a very colorful mural that goes all along the wall and depicts several different Disney characters. All of the drawings start out as sketches and progress into fully formed and colorful characters. It’s a really cute design and fun to look at while you are waiting for the Animation Experience to begin.
The Animation Experience is fun for anyone that likes to draw or who would like to learn to draw. I’ve never been a particularly good artist, but having family members who could draw lifelike pictures always made me wish I could draw more than a stick figure. So I decided to give this experience a try, grabbed a FastPass (lines get long for this experience), and I loved it! The class is taught by an animator and they take you step-by-step in how to draw the character (it was Simba when I was there). I was surprised to see a decent drawing when I was done, so it was a pretty cool experience. Cast members give you a pencil and the drawing paper before you take your seat and there is a clipboard on all the seats for guests to use.
To get to Rafiki’s Planet Watch head to the Harambe train station to catch the Wildlife Express. The train ride lasts about seven minutes each way and gives guests some peeks backstage. You might even get to see some of the animals wandering around backstage.
Thanks to everyone who played along this week and congratulations to those that knew where the mural is located! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be soon!
Have you tried the Animation Experience?
Thanks for reading!
