Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some good guesses, but one person knew where to find the sign.
Congratulations to Lori, who know that the sign is one of the room numbers at Disney’s Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs. Both Coronado Springs and Gran Destino Tower are designed to celebrate the blend of Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American cultures. The design is seen throughout the resort, including in the rooms.
The rooms at Gran Destino Tower are different that the rooms at Coronado Springs. As the name of the hotel would suggest, it is a tower and therefore it is a hotel, not the motel style of Coronado Springs. So the rooms at Gran Destino open to a hallway, instead of to the outdoors. The higher the floor you have the more of Disney World you can see. In the picture below you can see the top of the Tree of Life and Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom from a 10th floor water view room.

The rooms have large windows, almost floor to ceiling, which help to get some good views of the area. The room has all the same things that a standard studio has, like a coffee/tea area, USB ports for charging (in addition to regular plug outlets), a desk area with the tv mounted above it, a sitting area, a vanity outside the bathroom, a dresser, a safe, and a refrigerator. This particular room was a king room, so there was a couch in addition to the chair and table. The bathroom/vanity area can be closed off with a barn style door that slides.
This is honestly one of my favorite Moderate Resorts to stay in because of the rooms and also the proximity to the bus stop. The bus stop is to the right of the entrance of the tower and down a set of stairs. It’s really close to the tower, which is so nice, because if it’s really hot or raining, there isn’t a long walk back to the tower.
Thanks to everyone who played along and congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the sign! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon. Have you been to the Gran Destino Tower?
Thanks for reading!
