Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. Five people knew where able to pinpoint where this drawing is located.
Congratulations to Julia, Disney Dennis, Penny, Gina, and Abbie, who all knew the drawing is located at Art of Animation. Specifically, the drawing is located in the lobby of this Disney World Resort hotel. This is a fun resort with lots of oversized icons from different Disney movies. There are four sections at this resort: Little Mermaid, Cars, Lion King, and Finding Nemo. Each area has their own oversized icons from the movies the buildings are themed after. It’s fun to walk around and see all of them and there are a lot of great photo opportunities at this hotel.
Guests can book a Little Mermaid studio or Family Suites in the Cars, Lion King, and Finding Nemo area. The suites in the Finding Nemo area will cost a little more, because they are the closest to the main pool, the Big Blue Pool, which of course is themed after Finding Nemo. Looking for food or drink? The main pool has a pool bar with drinks and snacks aptly named the Drop Off Pool Bar.
More to see at Art of Animation:
- Cozy Cone Pool
- Flippin’ Fins Pool
- Landscape of Flavors – Art of Animation’s food court with 5 food areas to choose from with made-to-order food.
- Disney Skyliner access on the Generation Gap Bridge in between Art of Animation and Pop Century.
- Campfire Activities
- Movies Under the Stars
- Pixel Play Arcade
An interesting fact about Art of Animation is that this was not the original concept for the hotel. Originally, it was supposed to be the next phase after Pop Century was built. It was supposed to be the “Legendary Years” (years 1900-1940) but work was halted after the September 11th attacks. Once work was started again they scrapped the first idea and Art of Animation was built. This is also why the bridge connecting Art of Animation and Pop Century is called the Generation Gap Bridge. I love interesting Disney trivia like this.
Thanks to everyone who played along and congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the drawing! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon. Have you been to Art of Animation? If not, I highly recommend visiting it during your next trip, it’s a really cute resort.
Thanks for reading!
