Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some good guesses as always, but two people knew where to find the presents.
Congratulations to Lori and Craig who knew the presents can be found in the Carousel of Progress attraction at Magic Kingdom. Specifically, you can find it in the Christmas scene by the sister and grandfather. This is the last scene of the attraction, so you will see it after you go through the first three scenes.
This 20 minute ride takes guests on a tour of how technology has changed over the years. Thanks to the revolving theater, guests see four different generations of the same family and how technology has helped their lives. Plus, it’s a good place to sit for a bit if you’ve been on your feet all day or if you need to get out of the heat.
The Carousel of Progress was originally designed by Walt Disney for Disneyland for a land called Edison Square, but when that didn’t work it was reimagined for the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair. The show was a success and so it then opened in Disneyland. In 1975 it opened in Magic Kingdom with a new theme song, “The Best Time of Your Life.” However, in 1994 the original theme song returned, “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow.”
You can find this attraction in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. The theaters seat a lot of people, so the wait time is usually nonexistent. While this may not be the most thrilling ride (and it’s in need of a bit of a refurb), it’s still a favorite among a lot of guests, myself included.
Thanks to everyone who played along this week and congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the presents! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon. Do you visit the Carousel of Progress when you’re in Magic Kingdom?
Thanks for reading!
