Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some great guesses, but three people knew exactly where to find the droid.
Congratulations to Lori, Kelly, and Gregg who all knew the droid can be found on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Hollywood Studios. Specifically, this droid can be found in the area where Hondo Ohnaka gives his spiel to guests before they get funneled into a more condensed line. You can see the droid up on the stage below Hondo.
I’ve been on this ride a bunch of times and hadn’t noticed the face painted on it. When I saw it this time it made me laugh, so I thought it was a good pick for one of the Where is it Wednesday pictures. So next time you’re riding Smugglers Run make sure to look at the droid when he turns his head to face the audience.
The Smugglers Run experience is very immersive and that begins outside the ride building when you see the Millennium Falcon parked outside. As you wind your way through the multi-level queue line you will see the ship from different heights and angles, which is pretty cool. There are also funny conversations and announcements that are made over the PA system while you are waiting in line.
In the room where they assign your flight crew position there’s a lot to see. So make sure to check out the details. One of the biggest draws in this room is the famous table (“Let the Wookiee win”). Now the cast members have guests stand in lines in this room. However, those who want to take a picture at the table can still do so. Just take it quickly before your group is called.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is a fun ride and worth checking out during your Hollywood Studios day. In addition to being on the Genie+ list, there is also a single riders line.
Congratulations to everyone who knew where to find the droid and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon.
Which flight crew position is your favorite on Smugglers Run?
Thanks for reading!
