Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it was taken. There were some great guesses, but three people knew exactly where to find the light fixture.
Congratulations to Amanda (website), Steve (website), and Nicki (Facebook Group) who all knew that the light is located in the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Nice job, guys!
The light in the picture is situated over the dining area in the cabin. There’s a good size table with padded booth-like seating on one side and chairs on the other side. The details on the light fits so well with the theme of Fort Wilderness. Silhouettes of bears and trees decorate the light fixture, giving off the rustic, nature feel that is a common theme for this resort. The light was one of the first things I noticed when we walked in the door, because I love this design.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness is pretty big and spread out. It is set on 750 acres and has both cabins and the campgrounds. The cabins can have up to six people in them, so they are a good option for bigger travel parties. They have full kitchens that are equipped with pretty much everything you would need to cook during your stay. There’s a full size fridge (which makes saving leftovers very easy), a dishwasher, sink, stovetop, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot. In addition, it is fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, cups, and silverware.
Sleeping options in the cabin include a pullout sofa in the living room. When the pullout isn’t open, there’s a nice sitting area with the sofa, a chair, and a coffee table in front of the big television. There’s also a bedroom with a queen size bed and a bunkbed, so you can sleep up to four people in this room. The bedroom also has a tv on top of the dresser.
Outside the cabin is a pretty big deck with a picnic bench, which is nice to have for outside dining. In addition to the picnic bench, each cabin has a grill to use. So if you’re staying at the cabins and feel like having a hotdog and hamburger night, the grill is a helpful feature of the cabin.
We really like staying at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. It’s a great option for those that don’t want to full on camp, but want something a little different from the hotel experience. One recommendation I have for those staying in a cabin is to also rent a golf cart. The property has golf cart parking all over, which comes in handy when you don’t want to wait for a bus or walk (it’s pretty spread out). Plus, it’s just fun riding around property on a golf cart. That might have been my kids’ favorite part about staying there, my husband too. 😆
Congratulations to those that knew where to find the light and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon.
Have you ever stayed in one of the cabins?
Thanks for reading!
