The second box in the Disney Treasures subscription has arrived! This is a bi-monthly subscription box by Funko that is Disney themed.
I’ve tried other Disney subscription boxes where people pack mystery items in the boxes each month and you never know what you are going to get. I have yet to stick with one of those, because I never feel like I get my money’s worth. This subscription box is different though. I know we’re only on box two, but I’m still very happy with this subscription.
This month’s theme is Festival of Friends. It’s celebrating all the great pairs of friends in the Disney universe with some cute Funko items. From classic Disney duos to newer Pixar pals, Disney friendships are well represented in this box.
The box is the same trunk design that the Pirates Cove box was, which I love. April’s box had at Pirates Cove sticker on the top of the trunk and this one has a Festival of Friends sticker. They also added a printed version of the Pirates Cove sticker, which I think they are going to do for each box. So by the time we get to the last box it should have all the stickers on it to make it look like a well traveled trunk.
When you open the box the first things you will see are the patch and pin. This month we have a Piglet patch and a Thumper pin. Of course, Piglet is best friends with Pooh and Thumper is best friends with Bambi. Remember, if you bought the year subscription starting with the Pirates Cove box you will be able to fit all the patches together. I love that idea and can’t wait to see what all the patches are!
On the inside of the flap of the box is the same map that was on the Pirates Cove box. You can see all the different stops that we will have on our Disney Treasures adventure. It’s a nice addition to the design of the box.
Let’s explore what’s inside the box now. We’ll start with Dumbo.
Dumbo and Timothy Pop!
This is the item we knew about before we received the box. Funko shows the main item ahead of time so you know what the Pop! looks like. It was cute in all the pictures I saw, but it’s even cuter in person. I love that he looks like the rides in the parks and looks like he is flying. He comes with a clear stand, so you can display him out of the box. Timothy is sitting in his hat and he is holding his lucky feather. So cute!
From what I understand, Funko had to design a special box for him because of his ears. The ears were too wide to fit in a regular Pop! box.
Pluto Pop!
Pluto is, of course, best friends with the most famous of Disney characters. He and Mickey Mouse have been best pals for decades. This Pop! is really cute. I love that they have one of his ears up, like he is listening for something. His tongue is hanging out too. It’s nice that we got a second Pop! in this month’s box.
However, I was a little disappointed, only because Pluto’s head came unattached. It was easy to pop (or Pop!) it back on, so it’s not a huge deal, but it’s still a little disappointing that it came packaged like that.
Tin and Mystery Figure
This is the second tin with a mystery figure that we have received and I’m so glad they included it in this box. I’m hoping they add them to each box, because they’re fun and the mystery figures are so cute. This time around the tin was themed after the Toy Story Midway Mania! ride in the parks. There are different scenes on each side and the scenes are things you will come across on the ride.
Inside the tin is the bag with the mystery figure. This month it is Woody, who is best friends with Buzz Lightyear. The Woody figure is so adorable! The figure has some great detail on him, including the pull string on the back.
Map
This box also came with a map that gives details about the different items in the box and some fun trivia too. Plus on the other side it shows you where we are headed to next and what the next box theme will be.
