One of the most anticipated announcements for Disney vacation planning is the free dining promotion. Disney has been offering that promotion for a while now, and rumors have started swirling of when it will be available this year.
Our friends over at Mom’s Guide to Disney have given us the tip of what the latest free dining rumor is. According to Mom, this years promotion is expected to have more restrictions (Disney has been getting more restrictive each year). For starters it’s believed that the minimum night stay will be four nights and that guests will need to include a four-day Park Hopper ticket. Also under the rumored promotion Disney’s Moderate Resorts and Value Resorts would get the Quick Service Dining Plan and Disney’s Deluxe Resorts would include the Disney Dining Plan (or the mid-level plan, as I call it). Guests staying at the Moderate and Value Resorts can always pay the difference to move up the the mid-level plan.
The rumored dates for the offer are as follows:
- August 2-September 29
- November 24 – November 27
- December 7 – December 23
The rumored Disney Resorts included in the promotion are as follows:
- Pop Century
- The All-Star Resorts (Movies, Music, and Sports)
- Coronado Springs
- Caribbean Beach
- Fort Wilderness Cabins
- Animal Kingdom Lodge
- BoardWalk Inn
- Beach Club
- Yacht Club
- Old Key West
- Saratoga Springs
- Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Again, this is just a rumor right now. However, when rumors are this detailed they tend to be more credible. If you are checking in to your Disney Resort during one of the booking windows, but don’t see your resort on the list don’t panic, other resorts may be added when/if the promotion is officially announced by Disney. So don’t switch any reservations or anything like that based on this rumor, just keep it in mind.
Another thing to keep in mind is that Disney only allots a certain amount of rooms at each resort for these promotions. So even if you switched your reservation to one of the resorts listed above you would still have to call for the free dining, it does not automatically get added. Each year it seems to be more restrictive, so if you want the free dining it’s good to be ready. If you would like to be put on a waitlist for when the free dining promotion is released, you can contact me or any other travel agent at Dream Makers Travel Agency. We all have waitlists going for clients.
Thanks to Mom for the tip on the free dining!
