Today’s Picture of the Day comes from the Boardwalk Inn & Villas.
I took this picture the morning we were leaving Disney World to go back home. To be honest, the Boardwalk Inn was never on the top of my list of resorts to stay in, but that all changed after our stay in September.
We absolutely loved this hotel! I was a little worried that the clown slide would freak out the kids (and maybe the adults), but we loved the pool area. Most of us used the water slide and it was a lot of fun. Our trip before this one was at Kidani Village and while we like that water slide, we felt the one at the Boardwalk Inn was more fun. The only thing that was a little creepy about the slide is that the eyes light up at night. That’s the only time I got a Pennywise vibe from the slide.
We had a preferred view room and with that came a view of the slide, as well as Tower of Terror and the Earful Tower in the distance. It was a great view. Plus, we were close enough where I could talk to my husband from the balcony and give him my drink order for the pool bar while he and my daughter were down at the pool. Nothing better than getting a delicious daiquiri delivered to your room on short notice.
Speaking of the pool bar, Leaping Horse Libations, we liked it. They made good drinks, they also have food available for purchase, and the theme of the bar is really cute. It is themed like a carousel and it’s fun to see it lit up at night.
There are multiple lifeguards stationed around the pool throughout the day. Disney has a board that is updated every day with that day’s hours for the pool, Leaping Horse Libations, and the park hours.
There are different games that happen at certain times throughout the day. Kids can take part in these games and the times are usually listed on a schedule that you will get at check-in. The pool also offers complimentary towels and life jackets for guests. There is a playground and a splash area for the little ones too. The elephants that spray water out of their trunks are a hit with guests too.
I know a lot of people have reservations about the Boardwalk Inn because of the clown slide, but we didn’t find it that creepy in person. The slide was a lot of fun and everyone wanted to go down it more than once.
Have you ever been to the Boardwalk Inn & Villas pool?
