The driver and passenger involved in the fatal crash that occurred Sunday at the Exotic Driving Experience have been been identified. The driver was 24 year old Tavon Watson and the passenger was 36 year old Gary Terry.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Watson failed to maneuver one of the curves on the track and crashed into a guardrail. He was taken to Celebration Hospital for minor injuries and has been released, but Terry was pronounced dead at the scene.
Terry was a driving instructor at the attraction and Watson was the customer who was driving the Lamborghini around the track. Customers have to take a safety class before they are allowed to drive the car. Both Terry and Watson were wearing their safety belts.
The Exotic Driving Experience and Richard Petty Driving, both owned by Petty Holdings, are scheduled to close this summer (unrelated to the crash).
