Recently, Disney World’s bus system has been in the news because of an updated bus policy that people have been talking about. Now when visiting the Disney World website the updated policy is stated under the bus transportation section.
With this new policy it looks like Disney is trying to reduce the number of people who park at Disney Springs, but don’t necessarily shop or dine at Disney Springs. Instead, they park there and take resort buses to different Disney resorts and use that transportation to get to the parks. So it sounds like this policy is geared to help reduce the crowds on the buses from Disney Springs. It’s also making sure those not staying on property are using the theme park parking lots. Parking in the theme park lots will, of course, mean off property guests would have to pay a parking fee.
The new policy says guests boarding a bus from Disney Springs will need to show a resort, dining, or experience reservation. Those with any of the reservations listed will be allowed to board a resort bus from Disney Springs. Guests who have a dining or experience reservation can board the bus up to 2 hours before their reservation time. The snippet from the transportation page is below.
Traveling To and From a Disney Resort Hotel
Disney Springs
Bus service from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels is available for Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or visiting one with a valid dining or experience reservation. Guests may be asked to show a valid Resort hotel room key, dining reservation or experience reservation.
Guests with a valid dining or experience reservation may board the appropriate Disney Resort hotel bus from Disney Springs up to 2 hours before their reservation time.
Bus service between Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs is available during Disney Springs operating hours—and ends one hour after closing.
How do you feel about this new policy? Are you someone who usually stays on property or someone who is off property?
Thanks for reading!
