Disney has been making a lot of announcements this week. The latest announcements are aimed to help with flexibility and also to save money.
The first change is something that those driving to Disney World will appreciate. Overnight self-parking for guests staying at Disney World Resort hotels will once again be complimentary. Disney began charging guests with hotel reservations for parking a few years back and guests have been vocal about not appreciating this change. Disney has said that they are listening to guests and this is why one of the changes reverses that decision. So now guests who are driving to their hotel on Disney World property can once again enjoy complimentary parking.
Another change involves Genie+ and ride photos. In the upcoming months Disney is going to start including digital downloads of attraction pictures taken in the parks on the day Genie+ is purchased. Disney has not announced a start date for this addition, and has said that announcement will come at a later time. Including ride pictures for each day that Genie+ is purchased will be a nice addition and give a little more value to the paid service.
The third change Disney announced involves Annual Passholders. Soon, Disney World Annual Passholders will be able to visit parks after 2 p.m. without having to make a park reservation (except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom). In addition. Annual Passholders will also get access to Disney PhotoPass lenses and one complimentary Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience (please note that age restrictions apply). This is another change that will begin in the next few months. So it’s not an available option yet, but Disney said they will share a start date with Passholders soon.
What do you think about these changes?
