This week’s featured photo brings us to the Disney Monorail Resort Hotel area.
These resorts are some of the nicest on property. Between their proximity to Magic Kingdom and the fun themes, they are on bucket lists of many Disney fans. Even if you are not staying at one of the monorail resorts, I recommend taking the monorail resort loop and touring the resorts. Resort touring is a fun way to spend a non-park day.
Here is some info about the monorail resorts:
- The Wilderness Lodge does not have monorail access.
- All the monorail resorts are located around Seven Seas Lagoon.
- Other forms of transportation include boat and bus transportation.
- Guests staying at the Contemporary Resort can walk to Magic Kingdom.
- Watercraft rentals are available at the resorts (as seen in the picture).
- Each of the monorail resorts have a character dining experience at one of their restaurants.
- You can see fireworks from Magic Kingdom on their beaches.
- Each resort has theme park view rooms available for booking.
- You can transfer from the Resort Monorail to the Epcot Monorail or the Express Monorail at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), which means monorail resort guests can take the monorail to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
- You can see the castle from some areas at the monorail resorts.
In the featured photo above you can see the pool at the Polynesian Village Resort and past that you can see the Contemporary. The pool’s water slide at the Polynesian Village Resort is a volcano and it’s a pretty popular slide. The theme of the resort always carries to the the resort’s pool.
Also in the photo are some of the watercraft that you can rent at the Polynesian Village Resort. They have different types of watercraft available to rent and the price will vary depending on the watercraft you rent.
Watercraft rental prices at the monorail resorts (Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian):
- 2 guests or less you can rent a Sea Raycer for $32 per half-hour
- 6 guests or less you can rent a Boston Whaler Montauk for $45 per half-hour
- 10 guests or less you can rent a Sun Tracker Pontoon Boat for $45 per half-hour
A couple of other watercraft options available are Sammy Duvall’s Personal Watercraft Rentals and Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre at the Contemporary Resort. The Watersports Centre is where you go if you want to go parasailing. There are a lot of watercraft rental options and experiences available to all guests.
Have you ever rented a watercraft in Disney World?
