This week’s featured photo brings us to Hollywood Studios.
Located at the end of Sunset Boulevard is a mysterious and creepy looking building. Screams from the building can be heard pretty far in the park. I’m talking about, of course, The Twilight Zone Tower of Tower.
This is one of Disney’s thrill rides and is also one of their more popular rides. Guest enter the recently reopened hotel only to see a very dusty lobby that doesn’t seem to have moved past 1939, when it closed after the disappearance of some guests. Those missing guests will make a ghostly appearance later in the ride as guests are taken through hotel hallways in their ride vehicle.
The exciting part of the ride, and the source of the screams, is when your ride vehicle just drops. At the 13th floor (of course) the elevator doors open and guests get a view of Hollywood Studios, that’s when the free falls start. The number of drops varies each time, so guests have no clue how many times they will be picked up and dropped. It’s definitely an adrenaline filled ride!
This ride has one of my favorite queue lines. The attention to detail in the lobby area of the hotel is very cool. It really feels as though people were there one moment and just gone the next. I love the mysterious feeling that you get when walking through the lobby.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is definitely not for the faint of heart. If you don’t like the drops in roller coasters then I highly doubt you will like this ride. The design of the queue line is fun to see though.
Have you ever braved The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror?
Thanks for reading!

Love, love, love Tower of Terror! Awesome ride! One of my favorites in WDW.
This is one of my favorite rides. I try to go on it at least once each trip. My favorite time was when someone in the front row had a box of popcorn. It was open and by the time the ride was over there was popcorn everywhere. It was visible in the air in our picture. So sorry for next group waiting for our elevator. Cast members had to close it to get it all cleaned up.
Hahahaha! That is a great memory and I’m sure a fantastic picture from your trip. I’m sure the cast members were not thrilled, but it definitely makes for a great story. 🙂
