This week’s featured photo brings us to the Grand Floridian and its fun Mary Poppins topiary.
I spotted this topiary the last time I was in Disney. We were headed to the monorail and I happened to look to my right and saw it down below. It was located in an area with benches, but we did not explore further. Every time we were going to or getting off the monorail I would glance over at this topiary. I love that they gave her an umbrella and a carpet bag! The details in the topiary are pretty impressive.
Mary Poppins was one of my favorite movies as a kid. My brother and I would watch it over and over again. In fact, we watched it so much that we wore the tape out (remember VHS?!), specifically at the scene when they were riding the carousel horses. I still love that movie to this day. So, when I saw the topiary it immediately brought me back to those carefree childhood days that were spent watching our favorite movie.
See, that’s the thing about Disney, it will always make you feel carefree. Well, carefree until you get the bill at least. I love all the things in Disney World that bring up wonderful and fun childhood memories. Plus, you get to make new memories while you are there, so it’s a win-win.
I don’t know if the topiary is still there, but it’s worth checking out. So the next time you are catching the monorail from the Grand Floridian glance to your right and look down. You might see someone who is practically perfect in every way.
Have you ever seen the Mary Poppins topiary?
Thanks for reading!
