This week’s photo is from Port Orleans Riverside (POR).
My last trip to Disney World included my first stay at a moderate resort. I’ve always either stayed at a value or a deluxe, so it was nice to finally explore one of the moderate resorts. My friend and I chose POR because of the Royal Rooms.
The resort is beautiful and there will be a full review with lots of pictures sometime soon. We really enjoyed just walking around and taking in the surroundings at the resort. One feature that definitely stuck out was when we saw these fountains changing colors. They are so pretty to look at and it’s relaxing to listen to the water too.
During the day we saw a family having a photo shoot with a baby on this grassy area by the fountain. I can see why they would use this as their backdrop and I’m sure the pictures look really cute. This would be a really good place to just sit and relax, either during the day or at night.
The whole resort gave off that vibe of relaxation. It’s got that southern charm feeling to it and it instantly puts you in a good mood. There are different areas of the resort to explore, so you can spend hours walking around and enjoying the scenery.
We stayed in one of the mansion buildings and the fountain was located right by our building. I liked watching it change colors and took a bunch of pictures of it while it changed. The above picture is my favorite of the bunch.
If you have never been to Port Orleans Riverside I highly recommend making a trip there. Even if you don’t stay at the resort, it’s worth the trip just to explore the grounds. Plus, you can get some good food at The Riverside Mill or Boatwright’s Dining Hall.
Look for the full review of Port Orleans Riverside, with info and pictures, coming soon.
Have you ever been to Port Orleans Riverside?

We have stayed twice at POR and I enjoy it so much! The grounds are amazing & so well kept! We also enjoyed the quiet pool near our room too. This year we are staying at BW and SS in the villas to try something new!
Hi Holi!
We loved the BoardWalk! It’s so nice to be that close to Epcot. Saratoga is nice too, because you are within walking distance to Disney Springs 🙂
Hope you have a magical time!
We have been to Disney World seven times, and stayed at POR – Riverside six of those. We keep saying we’re going to try somewhere new, even had the Animal Kingdom Lodge booked one year but ended up changing it, lol. We’ve stayed on both sides, even in the Royal rooms. We like Alligator Bayou best for ease of getting to dining, transportation, laundry, etc, but are just in love with the whole resort. It truly feels like “home away from home” to us.
