Most of Disney World reopened today after being closed for two days due to Hurricane Irma. However there are some exceptions and one exception is Fort Wilderness Campground.
Disney had announced that it would remained closed while they performed an assessment of the property. However, it is being reported that Fort Wilderness Campground will be closed until further notice, changing the plans for many guests.
Disney sent emails to guests who are supposed to be staying at Fort Wilderness to let them know and help them find other accommodations. One member in the Main Street Wishes Facebook group reported that they received a letter (thanks Paula!).
While it’s great that Disney is moving people to hotels, unfortunately the wait times on the phone are pretty long. At the time of writing this post Main Street Wishes member, Paula, had been on hold for four hours! Keep in mind that Disney World is probably short staffed right now, so they are working as quickly as they can.
Hopefully, Disney will be able to get things cleaned up quickly, but they have to make sure it is safe for guests. Thanks to all the cast members who kept guests entertained and kept their mind off of the hurricane!
Thanks for reading!

I am sure that Disney World is doing their very best to clean up and make sure everything is safe after the storm!
Thanks Disney World!
I agree, Debbie! They have to make sure it’s safe and they have been accommodating those that had reservations at Fort Wilderness.
