This fun celebration is making its return to Hollywood Studios this year! It’s a fun event that involves many different things in Hollywood Studios, so take your time exploring and experiencing.
Below is a list of all the experiences that happen during Flurry of Fun. There are many different parts, so you can see a few things or try to visit everything. It definitely helps give that feeling of the season!
Sunset Seasons Greetings
There are a few different things that happen during this show. The biggest thing, and something you cannot miss, is the colorful projection show that happens on The Hollywood Tower Hotel. You will see different Disney characters appear in different scenes during the projection show.
I saw this last year and loved it. The projections are really impressive and you almost forget that you are watching it on The Hollywood Tower Hotel. There are a few different scenes that rotate during the projection show and they’re animated. You can see what I mean in the video below.
Not only does The Hollywood Tower Hotel come alive with projections, but the billboards along Sunset Boulevard show different animations of Disney characters too. Holiday scenes will start to appear on the billboards as night falls and they’re pretty cute! One scene includes Mickey and Minnie, another shows the Toy Story characters, the Swedish Chef appears in a scene, and Olaf shows up thinking over his holiday wish.
Another fun feature of Sunset Seasons Greetings is that there is “snow” on Sunset Boulevard! Guests loved this feature last year and I thought it was a nice addition to a holiday show.
Sunset Seasons Greets will run from November 8, 2018 through January 6, 2019.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
This is a cute fireworks/special effects/projections show. The premise is that it’s almost Christmas Day and Santa has gone missing. So it’s up to Wayne and Lanny to set out and find him. The duo end up in Halloween Town and have to rescue Santa in order to save Christmas.
The show also includes scenes from some Disney classics. Guests will see scenes from movies like Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Pluto’s Christmas Tree, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, to name a few.
In addition to the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! nighttime spectacular, there is also a dessert party by the same name. I attended the party last year (here’s my review) and we had a good time, but the food was a little disappointing. However, if you have never seen Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! then this might be a good idea for you because you won’t have to wait for an hour holding a spot to see the show.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will run from November 6, 2018 through January 6, 2019.
Other Holiday Happenings for Flurry of Fun
- Echo lake and the area around it is decorated with lots of festive decorations. In the middle of the lake is a huge Christmas tree and giant ornaments are placed all around the lake. Dinosaur Gertie even gets the holiday makeover treatment! Last year she had a Santa hat on her head and an ornament hanging from her mouth.
- Minnie’s Holiday Dine takes place at Hollywood & Vine. Minnie and friends are dressed in their holiday attire and greet guests at lunch and dinner.
- At Once Upon a Time, guests can visit Santa Claus from November 9 to December 24, 2018 and Santa Goofy from December 25 to December 31, 2018.
- The new Toy Story Land will also be getting some attention this holiday season. So make sure to mosey on over and check it out!
