Back in June Disney released a timeline of when their hotels would be reopening. It started with the DVC resorts on June 22 and the other resorts had opening dates the following months. However, Disney has decided to postpone a couple of the reopening dates and for two resorts they have postponed the reopening dates “until further notice.”
The two resorts that have been postponed with later reopening dates are the Polynesian Village Resort and Art of Animation. Originally, these two resorts were supposed to opening on August 12, but now they will be opening on different dates. The Polynesian Village Resort will reopen on October 4 and Art of Animation is now set to reopen on November 1.
In addition, both the Beach Club Resort’s and the BoardWalk Inn’s reopening dates have been postponed “until further notice.” Originally the Beach Club was going to reopen with the Yacht Club on August 24 and the BoardWalk Inn was set to reopen on October 1. I’ll keep an eye out for reopening dates for these resorts, but it could be a while before Disney makes a decision.
Hotel Reopening Dates
- July 29: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Aug. 24: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Sept. 21: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Oct. 4: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Oct. 14: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
- Nov. 1: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Disney also noted that these dates are subject to change, saying “Due to the fluidity of the current environment, we will continue to evaluate adjustments to Disney Resort hotel opening dates as needed and when the timing is right to do so.” Disney went on to say, “These dates are still subject to change, and reservations for stays at Disney Resort hotels not yet open could still be impacted.”
For those staying at a resort during the adjusted closure dates, I would call Disney about moving your reservation. If you booked with a travel agent contact them about moving your reservation to a new resort.
