Last summer, during the D23 Expo, Disney announced a new space themed restaurant would be making its way to Epcot. Today, Disney released a little more information about the restaurant.
Disney did not release a ton of information, but what they did announce is that the new restaurant will be built in an area between Mission:SPACE and Test Track. The announcement says the are is “newly developed,” so it sounds like they have been clearing space for this new restaurant. See the map below to get an idea of where the restaurant might go.
The artist rendering of the restaurant looks pretty cool and Disney is usually pretty good about making the real thing look very much like the drawings. From the drawing it looks like there are going to be big windows with screens that make it look like you are looking out into space.
The restaurant is going to be run by the Patina Restaurant Group. This group already runs some restaurants in Disney World (Tutto Italia, Via Napoli, Morimoto Asia, and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante), so they are not new to operating a restaurant in Disney World.
There was no time frame given or even whether they have begun construction on the restaurant. However, Disney did say they will have more details to share soon, so we’ll keep an eye out for that.
I’m pretty excited for this restaurant to open. It sounds like it’s going to be a fun dining experience and I’m hoping that the menu will have items themed to the restaurant.
Are you excited for this new restaurant too?
Thanks for reading!
