I know it seems weird to be talking a Halloween event, since summer is just around the corner, but it’s time to start planning for fall in Disney World. Today, Disney announced the dates and other information for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Dates for the Halloween Party:
- Aug. 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29
- Sept. 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30
- Oct. 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31
Tickets for the party will be available for purchase on May 15 for guests staying at a Disney World Resort hotel as well as those staying at the Swan and Dolphin hotels, and Shades of Green. For everyone else, tickets will be available for purchase on May 22. Discounted tickets will be available for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members.
Ticket prices will vary depending on the dates. The range of prices will be $119 to $229 (plus tax) per ticket. For those that are Annual Passholders or Disney Vacation Club Members, you can save $10 per ticket on select event nights in August and September.
The party officially starts at 7pm and runs until midnight, but guests who have a party ticket can entry the park as early as 4pm. Getting in the park early gives guests a chance to get some food or get in line for their favorite character meet and greet. During the party there are exclusive character meet and greets, like Sally and Jack, that are good to get in line early for.
Of course, one of the main draws of the party is trick-or-treating around the park. The party map will lay out the treat trail so guests know where to go for scoopfuls of candy. If anyone in your party has food allergies they can get a teal bag from a cast member and collect tokens at each stop. Then at the Allergy-Friendly Centers guests can redeem the tokens for allergy-free candy. While guests are encouraged to dress up in costume for the party, it is not required and guests who do not dress up can still trick-or-treat.
The Halloween party also has some fun shows and events. The most popular is Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade. It’s a really cute parade with dancing ghosts from the ballroom scene of the Haunted Mansion, the grave diggers with their sparking shovels, Pain & Panic from “Hercules,” Vanellope from “Wreck-It Ralph,” and more. This year the parade will take place at 8:15pm.
Also back this year is the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, hosted by the Sanderson Sisters, in addition to appearances by some favorite Disney Villains. The popular fireworks show, Disney Not So Spooky Spectacular is returning as well.
If you do decide to go to the Halloween party, I recommend bringing your own reusable grocery bag to use for trick-or-treating. While Disney does give you a bag, it’s pretty small, so you will need more space. Something else I highly recommend is deciding what you definitely want to experience at the party. Decide if you want to concentrate on trick-or-treating, meeting characters, riding the rides, or seeing all the different shows. When you’re at the party, focus on the one thing you want to do and then once that’s done you can try other things at the party. The time goes by amazingly quick, so it’s good to have a plan before you get to the party.
As it gets closer Disney will release more information about the party, but for now you can mark your calendars to purchase tickets. Are you excited for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
Thanks for ready!
