A dedicated Disney fan spent some time building a mini Magic Kingdom model. He took things from both parks for this model and it’s very impressive!
I heard about Lane’s model through his sister and his mother. We met while a bunch of us were waiting out a serious downpour in Hollywood Studios. We spent some time talking about Disney (of course) and his model came up. I asked if it would be ok for me to write about it and was given the ok. So his sister, who follows Main Street Wishes (Hi Kate!), emailed me the links for the Facebook page and his YouTube channel, which I will include below.
I watched the videos that Lane has on his YouTube channel and the detail is pretty impressive. He mentions that it’s not to scale and it’s a combination of both parks, but the result is a fun and cool model that any Disney fan would find interesting, at least I think so. His videos take you on a tour of the model and he does both a daytime tour and a nighttime tour. Plus, he has a video of an interview with Bob Penfield (The Last Original Disneylander) on his channel, it’s worth taking a look at for sure!
In the video below he talks about how everything was constructed. The fact that he made Splash Mountain out of clay is really impressive. He mentions on the Facebook page that it took him a month and a half to build it and when you see it you will understand why!
Here’s an overview video he posted of the Mini Magic Kingdom.
You can check out the Mini Magic Kingdom Facebook page for more pictures and LM Productions YouTube channel for more videos.
I love seeing the creative projects of Disney fans! Have you ever built any Disney models?
Thanks for reading!
