Today’s dose of Disney brings us to the newest area of Hollywood Studios.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened at Hollywood Studios in August 2019. One of the rides in that new area is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which lets guest pilot the famous ship. There are six seats for guests: 2 pilots, 2 engineers, and 2 gunners. Guests are given a mission by Hondo Ohnaka to find some items and bring them back.
The experience is very immersive and that begins outside the ride building when you see the Millennium Falcon parked outside. As you wind your way through the multi-level queue line you will see the ship from different heights and angles, which is pretty cool. There’s also some fun conversations and announcements that are made over the PA system while you are waiting in line. It’s a really well done queue line and it’s very immersive with the design, the effects, and the announcements that surround guests as they wait in line.
Once you get to the area where they assign you your flight crew position you will be able to wonder around this room. There’s a lot to see here too, so make sure to check out the details. One of the biggest draws in this room is the famous table every Star Wars fan knows (“Let the Wookiee win”). People are usually courteous about picture taking here, so everyone should be able to get their picture taken at the table if they would like.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is a fun ride and worth checking out, once the parks reopen. FastPass is available for this experience and they also have a single riders line, in addition to the regular standby line.
Hope this brought a little magic to your day!
