Last Wednesday I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where the bench is located. There were some really good guesses and some people knew exactly where to find it.
The bench is one of a few fun themed benches at the train station for Rafiki’s Planet Watch in Animal Kingdom. In this area guests can explore and learn about conservation efforts. There are some fun things to see and do at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, so it’s worth the train ride.
To get to Rafiki’s Planet Watch you can catch the Wildlife Express Station in Harambe, Africa. The train ride is around seven minutes long and during the ride there are some fun behind the scenes things to see. During the ride you will pass by some of the backstage areas where the animals are kept and might even get to see some of them outside.
Once you reach the train station for Rafiki’s Planet Watch you can make your way down the path towards Conservation Station, but make sure to check out the informational signs along the path. This walkway is called Habitat Habit! and there is a Wildlife Explorers stop on the path.
Here are some things you will find at Conservation Station:
- Veterinary Treatment Room
- Nutrition Center
- Amphibian, Reptile and Invertebrate Windows
- Science Center
- Affection Section (Petting Zoo)
- Animation Experience – This is a fun drawing class. I took it and was amazed that I was actually able to draw Simba. Artist skills, like painting and drawing, run in my family. However, these are not talents that I inherited, which is why I was impressed that I drew something other than a stick figure. So if I can do this drawing class, and actually produce a decent drawing, anyone can. Plus, you get a fun (and free) souvenir. Definitely worth checking out!
I’ve always been a fan of Rafiki’s Planet Watch and love taking the train there. I think it sometimes gets forgotten or thought of as a “boring” part of the park, but it’s a fun little area. Plus, it gets you away from the busy and crowded parts of the rest of the park. If anything, it’s worth the train ride for the Animation Experience and the petting zoo; the animals are so cute!
Thanks to everyone who played along this week and congratulations to those that knew where the bench is located! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon!
Have you been to Rafiki’s Planet Watch?
Thanks for reading!
