Disney has been treating those that cannot be in the parks for certain event to live streaming. It’s great, because it helps bring the magic to people’s homes.
Make sure to mark your calendars, because they are going to have a live stream event again. Disney has announced that to help celebrate the New Year on December 31, they will be streaming the New Year’s Eve fireworks from Magic Kingdom. This is definitely happy news for a lot of fans who cannot be in the park that day or who do not want to be in the park.
Why wouldn’t you want to be in the park? Holidays like New Year’s Eve tend to be super crazy and crowded. During certain holidays it’s not uncommon for the parks, especially Magic Kingdom, to get busy enough where Disney starts implementing their different closing phases. Phase 4 is the only phase that does not allow anyone in, whether you are staying on property or not. Up through Phase 3 guests staying on property, annual passholders, and guests with in-park reservations and appointments are still allowed in the parks.
If you are planning on being in the park on New Year’s Eve for the fireworks I would definitely get there early and plan to stay in the park. It may not reach capacity, but it will still be crowded. Try not to plan too much, because getting around in a very crowded Magic Kingdom can be slow going and if you try to pack too much in you will most likely start to feel stressed.
Those that don’t want to deal with the crowds can just stream the fireworks show live, even if you’re in another park. Disney will start the live stream of “Fantasy in the Sky” at 11:45 p.m. EST and you can follow along on social media with the hashtag #DisneyParksLIVE. They will have a fresh blog posted at the top of their page.
Are you going to stream the fireworks or will you be there to see them in person?
Everyone at Main Street Wishes would like to wish you a happy and healthy New Year!
As always, thanks for reading!
