Being aware of what will be down for a refurbishment when you are in Disney is something that is good to know ahead of time. It’s no fun finding out that your favorite ride will be closed, but if you know ahead of time at least you are prepared.
The newest refurb list from Disney World shows that the Haunted Mansion will be down for a refurb from Nov. 28 – Dec. 1. While this is not a long refurb, it can still put a damper on someone’s trip if they are going to be in Magic Kingdom those days. It’s a popular ride and a lot people look forward to riding it during each visit.
Another part of the latest refurb list is that the attraction DINOSAUR got pushed from reopening on October 16 to November 19. That’s over a month longer than they had initially expected to be closed. So guests that were expecting to be able to ride it during the last half of October were a little upset when they heard about the extended refurb.
Other updates include a one day closure for Splash Mountain on Dec. 7, Kali River Rapids closing from Jan. 3 – Jan. 29, and the Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian closing from Oct. 17 – Dec. 14.
You can view the full refurb list on the website and we also keep a file updated in the Facebook group.
Which attraction do you always look forward to seeing on your Disney World trip?
Thanks for reading!

HI Liz, Love your articles, always informative. I have a question that even the people at the Disney phone center could not answer for me.
We will be at Hollywood Studios when they have the Xmas Jingle Jangle
fireworks show at The listed time of 6:45. But we also have reserved seats for the Fantasmic Shoy At 7:00. How do they expect all the guests
To see the fireworks first and then hurry over to the Fantasmic Show, that’s going to be a lot of people all going the same way, could be a mess. And when you finely get to the show will they let you in if its a little
past 7:00? I was told you have to make a choice between the shows,it will be hard with a 5yr. old to decide. I am hoping that Disney realizes the
overlap and we can see both shows. Thanks for listening to my quandary, Charlene
Hi Charlene!
Thank you for the kind words about the website! It’s appreciated 🙂
I wish I could say that they would let you in if you get there after 7, but I’m honestly not sure that they would let you in. They might, but rushing from one show to another with a 5 year old probably won’t be easy. It stinks that they are so close together. Will you be able to do more than one night at Hollywood Studios or is this your only night to be in that park?
I hope you get a chance to see both shows while you are there!
HI Liz, We only have the one day there unless something
changes, the Magic Kingdom is our double day park just
because of the 5yr. old, so I guess we’ll just have to see
what happened, maybe they’ll realize the overlap will affect
everyone that wants to see both.
Thanks again, Charlene
Yeah, it definitely makes more sense to do two days in the Magic Kingdom. I’m sure you will enjoy whichever show you choose to see, but I understand the frustration. I hope you guys have a magical vacation!!
So excited!!! Our family trip is in january!
Last time we were at Disney world, we noticed some overlaps in times of major shows. We finally decided it was probably intentional so they could split the crowds. We figured that neither of the events could comfortably accommodate all of the guests, so two options were offered.
