Tours Available at Walt Disney World

There is quite a bit to do in each of the Disney World theme parks, most of the time you have to remind yourself to slow down and take a break. However, if you are looking for something different or extra to add to you trip then you should take a look at the tours that are available to book.

A lot of these tours involve animals, so they’re in Animal Kingdom, but there are some in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT too. Below is a list of the tours with information about the tour, the price, and times the tours take place.

Magic Kingdom

The Keys to the Kingdom Tour is a big one, because this one lasts five hours and brings guest to the famous Utilidor tunnels the cast members use. This is an outdoor walking tour, so dress appropriately for the weather and for a long day of walking.

Theme park admission is required, but not included in the price of the tour. Tour guests meet at Town Square Theater 15 minutes before the start of the tour. Keep in mind that no cameras, video equipment, or cell phones may be used at any point during the tour.

• Cost: $169 per person (ages 16 and up)
• Tour Times: 8 am, 8:30 am, 9 am

EPCOT

Behind the Seeds

This tour brings guests behind the scenes of Living with the Land. Guests learn about the hybrid striped bass, tilapia, catfish, and freshwater shrimp Disney has on their fish farm. The tour includes information about the latest plant-growing techniques, which includes hydroponics. Guests are asked to check in 15 minutes before the tour at the lower level of The Land Pavilion, near the ride’s exit.

• Cost: $39 per person
• Tour Times: 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm
• Tour Length: 1 Hour
• Theme park admission is required, but not included in the price of the tour

EPCOT Seas Adventures – DiveQuest

This unique experience takes guests into the 5.7 million gallon tank at The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion. Guests must have proof of Open Water SCUBA certification in order to take part in this program.

• Cost: $229 per person (ages 10 and up)
• Tour Times: 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm
• Tour Length: 2 hours (40 minutes of dive time and a backstage tour to see the inner workings of the aquarium)
• Swim with over 2,000 aquatic animals
• Friends and family who are not on the tour can watch the dive portion of your tour through the windows of the tank.
• Theme park admission is required, but not included with the price of the program
• All diving equipment is provided
• Swimsuits are required to enter the water
• Locker rooms with free lockable lockers, towels, shampoo, and hair dryers are provided.
• Shorty wetsuits for men’s sizes XS to 7X and women’s sizes XS to 7X are provided.

Animal Kingdom

Caring for Giants

This tour gives guests a closer look at the African elephants at Animal Kingdom. Guests will learn about the day-to-day care of the elephants as well as the inner workings of the herd. The closer look brings guests within 80 to 100 feet of the elephants. No cameras, video equipment, or cell phones are allowed backstage, but photography is allowed in non-backstage areas. Guests are asked to check in 15 minutes before the start of the tour at the Curiosity Animal Tours kiosk, which is across from Kilimanjaro Safaris.

• Cost: $39 per person (4 years and up)
• Tour Times: 9 am, 10 am, 1 pm, and 2 pm
• Tour Length: 1 Hour
• Theme park admission is required, but not included with the price of the tour.
• This is an outdoor tour

Savor the Savanna

This is a privately guided safari that takes guests into the Harambe Wildlife Reserve. Guests will have access to private viewing areas for pictures. During the safari, the guide shares information about the animals and the care they are given at the park. Guests are asked to check in 15 minutes before the start of the tour at the Curiosity Animal Tours kiosk, which is across from Kilimanjaro Safaris.

• Cost: $199 per person (8 years and up)
• Tour Times: 3:15 pm and 4:30 pm
• Tour Length: 2 hours (about an hour for the safari and 45 minutes to an hour in the viewing area)
• While in the viewing area guests are treated to African-inspired tapas, beer, and wine.
• The tour happens rain or shine, with the exception of severe weather or lightning
• Theme park admission is required, but not included with the price of the tour.

Up Close with Rhinos

This tour gives guests a closer look at Animal Kingdom’s white rhinoceros. The guide gives guests interesting information about the species’ behavior and biology, as well as information about the challenges that threaten populations in the wild.

Guests are asked to check in 15 minutes before the start of the tour at the Curiosity Animal Tours kiosk, which is across from Kilimanjaro Safaris. Keep in mind that no cameras, video equipment, or cell phones may be used at any point during the tour.

• Cost: $49 per person (4 years and up)
• Tour Time: 11 am
• Tour Length: 1 Hour
• The tour happens rain or shine, with the exception of severe weather or lightning
• Theme park admission is required, but not included with the price of the tour.
• Comfortable close-toe shoes are strongly recommended

Wild Africa Trek

This tour brings guests to an area designed after the Safi River Valley, the environment where the animals call home in Africa. Guests will walk along a grassland path, cross a rope bridge, and ride in a safari vehicle over the open savanna. During the tour the guide shares information about the animals viewed on the tour, as well as the park’s efforts in animal conservation.

A photographer is included with this tour and they take pictures during the entire experience. At the end, everyone will get a code to see and download the pictures. Animals seen on the tour include giraffes, rhinos, hippos, and crocodiles.

• Cost: $229 per person (8 years and older)
• Tour Times: 8:45 am, 10:15 am, 11:45 am, and 12:30 pm
• Tour Length: 3 Hours
• Food is included on this tour. A sample menu Disney has posted includes:
  • Garlic and Leek Hummus and Pita
  • Prosciutto and Mozzarella

  • Marinated Tandoori Shrimp

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Starlight Safari

This fun experience takes place at the hotel at night. Guests are provided with a night vision device to see the animals. Animals seen include zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, antelopes, ostriches, and over 20 other exotic African species roaming the hotel grounds.

• Cost: $89 per person (8 years and up)
• Tour Times: 8:30 pm and 10 pm
• Tour Length: 1 Hour
• Check in at the porte-cochere at Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
• Experiences may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
• Late arrivals after the start of the tour will not be accommodated.

For each of these tours there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. As stated for each of these experiences on Disney’s website, “There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Full price will be charged/forfeited if the Guest cancels within one day or fails to show up for the reservation.” So keep that in mind when booking any of these.
