One of the rides in the Magic Kingdom will now be switching to seasonal operation. It’s in Tomorrowland, and this may be the beginning of the end for it.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Stitch’s Great Escape! will now be operating on a “seasonal” schedule. This basically means it will be operating when the attendance in the parks calls for it.
Stitch’s Great Escape! opened in November 2004, replacing ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. Stitch is the alien character that finds ‘ohana with Lilo and her sister in “Lilo and Stitch.” The last day of regular operation for the attraction will be on October 1.
It’s hard to tell if the attraction is really going to be missed. It doesn’t seem too popular, even with fans of the movie. We will keep you updated as more information is released.
If this does mean the beginning of the end for Stitch’s Great Escape, what would you like to see open in its place.
