“I wanna be like you, walk like you, talk like you too!”
Sitting on the couch, one boring day, my parents started talking about Timothy and Dumbo and the feather. That got me thinking.
Who is Mickey without Pluto?
Who is Pinocchio without Jiminy?
What is Main Street U.S.A. without Cinderella Castle!?
Some things in life just go better together.
Have you ever taken a moment to consider the sidekicks of Disney? Would Mary Poppins be as “Practically perfect in every way,” if Bert didn’t know who she was?
Pictured below is one of my favorite sidekicks, Baloo! I love him, because not only is he lovable, but his name is almost the same as the blueish color of his fur! Plus, Mowgli would not be the same without him!
There are, of course, some characters that have more than one sidekick or sidekick item. Pooh would not be Pooh without Hunny, his red balloon, and of course, Piglet! How about the Evil Queen, and the Magic Mirror or the Crow or the apple? Princess Aurora and Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather! There are so many!
As I sit here and wrap up this post, it’s 88 degrees and sunny, so I’m thinking Olaf would be a great sidekick to stay cool on this warm day!
What sidekick would you like to have, or who is your favorite? Feel free to comment below!
Thanks for reading!

Sidekicks. How about Mr Incredible and Frozone. Timon and Pumbaa. They were surely a pair. Guess everyone has a sidekick and I wonder if I have one or if I am one?
Good ones!
Chip and dale, bernard and miss bianca, pete and elliot, merlin and archimedes, robin hood and little john, bambi and thumper. In case it wasn’t obvious I like a lot of the older Disney cartoons. They are the ones I grew up watching. Disney seems to have forgotten about a lot of them.
Love the classic characters too! Our kids just recently saw The Sword in the Stone and they loved it. Made me happy that they like the classic characters as much as the newer ones 🙂
