Okay I have been going a bit bonkers with crochet recently and I promise to branch out soon, but I just had to share Yoda. I think he may actually be my favorite Star Wars character.
Yoda was the perfect DIY gift for my little guy this year. I used the same book for Yoda as I did for Luke Skywalker and still found it easy to follow!!
Yoda was very straightforward & very easy, perfect for any skill level. He was basically just a single crochet stitch the entire time. The only exception was his toes, that was a different stitch. Don’t worry though, the instruction guide offers beautiful color photos to compliment the stitch instructions, making stitches that are new to you easy to accomplish. As always if you are a visual learner like I am, I recommend typing the new stitch into youtube and watching a tutorial on how to do it.
If I’m being critical (and I usually am of my work) Yoda’s jacket doesn’t fit him quite right, I think I over stuffed him and he doesn’t stand up easily (or at all) for this reason. His jacket is a separate piece from his body. I made his body first and then his jacket. Somewhere in there I should have checked the sizing. It wasn’t until I tried to dress Yoda that I realized I had overstuffed him and discovered the jacket was a little snug.
Regardless, he fits perfectly in little hands and has attended many star wars family movie nights.
Have you tried any of the crochet projects? Feel free to share pictures in the comments!
Thanks for reading!
