I wanted to share this adorable find!! I happened upon this set of embroidery patches featuring Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs at Joann Fabrics a few years ago and I’ve been holding on to them waiting for the “perfect” project.
Patches are a fun and easy way to personalize and decorate your bags, jackets, hats, jeans, blankets, back packs, scrapbooks, etc. They are both easy to use and cost effective! I can’t think of a better way to show off your Disney side then by decorating something special with one (or more) of these patches.
I did a little digging and although I have never seen embroidery patches at the Disney store or in the parks, a great selection can be found at Joann Fabrics. Their website is: www.joann.com. I had the best results by typing: “Disney Iron-on Applique” in the search bar.
For an even bigger selection try EBay, Etsy or Amazon. I was absolutely amazed at the selection and wide variety of characters available. In the search engines I tried both: “Disney Iron-on Applique” or “Disney Embroidery Patch” and was very successful with both searches.
Most patches these days are very easy to use and can be attached by simply ironing them on. Although, I would recommend putting a few sewn stitches in there for good measure. My experience has been that the glue only holds for a short period of time. If the patch is attached to something that will be used a lot, it’s likely to start peeling off sooner than later. Stitching the patch would be a quick and easy way to prevent you from accidentally losing it.
As always we enjoy hearing from you and if you’ve used any Disney patches to decorate and personalize anything please feel free to share pictures & ideas. We would love to see your creativity, it’s inspiring!!
Thanks for reading!
Steph

When I was in high school almost 20 years ago everyone had patches on their book bags including me. I would have put these patches on my bookbag if I had them!
Me too, Katie! Steph finds all the good crafty stuff. LOL
Katie, it’s so funny that you said that. I’ve been trying to get my kids to pick out patches for their book bags this year!! Maybe we’ll bring back a trend. :0)
