That’s right, you can send mail right from the Magic Kingdom. I heard about this, but never sent anything until my last trip.
Since I was in Disney with friends, I thought it would be fun to send the kids a post card from Mickey right from the Magic Kingdom. So when I was leaving the park I headed to the Newsstand, which is located right outside the entrance to Magic Kingdom, to buy a postcard to mail.
The Newsstand has lots of items available that you might need for spending a day at Magic Kingdom. They have snacks, autograph books, pens, drinks, and more. I needed a memory card for my camera and was able to find one there. Granted it was more expensive than if I had bought it elsewhere, but I needed to the card so I could take pictures for the website and didn’t have time to run around comparing prices.
While I was checking out, I asked the cast member if she would mind if I wrote out the card while I was there. She was so nice and offered the side of the counter for me to write the postcard. She also asked me if I would like a special Magic Kingdom stamp. I knew you could mail a postcard from the Magic Kingdom, but I didn’t know you could get a special stamp. The kids would be so excited when they saw that! So she stamped the postcard and I put the stamp on it (they also sell stamps) and walked over to the mailbox.
The mailbox is an old turn-of-the-century mailbox and is located right outside the Newsstand. You have probably walked past it a bunch of times when going to the Magic Kingdom and might not have noticed it, but it’s there.
I have to say, sending mail isn’t usually something I would consider to be a fun activity, but mailing something from that old mailbox from the Magic Kingdom was pretty fun. Plus, I was home when the postcard arrived and was able the excitement my kids had when they saw it.
I definitely recommend getting the stamp if you mail something from the Magic Kingdom. It adds a little extra magic to the mail.
Have you ever mailed anything from the Magic Kingdom?
Thanks for reading!

We will be there in 11 days and my daughter was wanting to send a postcard to a friend but I wasn’t sure how. This information came at just the right time. Thanks.
Glad to help! Hope you and your family have a magical vacation! 🙂
Can I bring my Valentine’s Day cards with me to get them stamped in the magic kingdom and then mail them from there?
Just thought it would be a neat thing to do while we are there.
Thanks for answering my question!
Hi Debbie!
That’s a great idea! I’m sure they would stamp them. Are you using envelopes? You should be ok putting the stamps on first. They don’t put the Magic Kingdom stamp where the mailing stamps go, but I would leave some space on the card or envelope for the stamp.
I should not put the stamps on till after they are stamped…yes?
Can I ask when they did this for you, I want to bring my save the dates to stamp.
I was there this past November when I sent the postcard. The cast member at the News Stand (right by the entrance into the park) offered to use the Magic Kingdom stamp on the postcard for me. It definitely adds a little magic to your mail 🙂
Got the Valentine’s Day cards ready….three more days to go!
That’s great Debbie! It will be a nice touch to the cards. Have a magical vacation!
We are!!
