Today’s Snackshot is something new I tried during the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
Frushi is something I have been hearing about for a bit now, so I was happy to see it was available at the Flower & Garden Festival. The festival began on March 4 and was supposed to run until June 1, but of course the festival got interrupted because Disney had to close their parks. If Disney reopens before the end date of the festival then I recommend trying this snack.
You can find Frushi at the Hanami booth and it costs $6 or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Just like the name implies, it’s a fruit sushi. They wrap strawberries, pineapple, and cantaloupes in sweet rice and a pink soy wrap. It’s served with whipped cream, drizzled berry sauce, and toasted coconut.
I’ll be honest, I did not have high hopes for how this was going to taste, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. The flavors all worked really well together and I found myself wishing we had ordered two instead of one. It was really good and the pieces are a good size. The sweetness of the fruit worked really well with the sweet rice and the soy wrap. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve added it to the list of Disney foods that I’d like to try to make at home.
Have you ever tried the Frushi at Epcot?
Thanks for reading!
