Disney World is offering a new experience to guests called Escape to Walt’s Wilderness.
According to Disney Parks Blog, this tour will take guests “off-the-beaten path” from the Contemporary Resort to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Your day starts as you board a pontoon boat at the Contemporary Resort.
While you sail across Bay Lake, your guide will tell you stories about Walt’s love nature and will give you little fun facts. For instance, in the Disney Parks Blog post, the author says that they were informed that Central Florida is where Walt’s parents met and that even though he died before Disney World was finished, Walt did sail across Bay Lake.
Guests will have a chance to look for Florida wildlife as well, while on the pontoon boat. There will be wildlife guides and binoculars for guests.
When you reach the beach there will be breakfast and a bonfire waiting. Included in the breakfast:
- Locally sourced citrus salad
- Egg frittata
- Cinnamon rolls
- Biscuits
- Granola
- Coffee
- Juice
- Marshmallows for roasting
Once breakfast is done, guests will be picked up by a horse drawn wagon and will take guests to an archery lesson at Fort Wilderness. Guests will also get to hike in the woods past old train tracks that were once park of the Fort Wilderness Railroad.
After the hike, guests will go to Tri-Circle Ranch and learn how horses have been incorporated into the theme parks since the first day. Guests will get to see horses in a natural environment, learn about care for horses, and they will also get to see these horses up close.
