Beginning May 22, 2026 Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will give guests some new opportunities during this experience. Coming to this ride next year, guests can expect to experience new adventures and have interactions with new characters.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is a ride at Hollywood Studios where guests work with Hondo Ohnaka. The story behind the ride is that you are on a mission for Ohnaka Transport Solutions, Hondo Ohnaka’s smuggling shipping operation. During the mission guests are directed by Hondo on where to fly the ship and what they are picking up. Once you return to base, you will see how well you did with your position (pilot, gunner, or engineer). If you crashed a lot then you will notice a lot of lights flickering and steam sounds coming from the exit line. It’s a fun ride that is really immersive from the beginning to the end!
One of the big features coming to this ride will allow guests to be in control of the destination. This new feature will give guests the chance to visit Bespin, or the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the newly announced city-planet, Coruscant. Having the chance to explore new areas will give a nice refresh to this already popular ride.
In addition to new adventures being added there will also be new characters joining the missions. With the popularity of the show The Mandalorian, it’s not a surprise that Disney wants to incorporate characters from the show into more things in the parks. So, Mando and Grogu will be joining guests on these adventures next year. Grogu will also be communicating with the engineers during the mission, which will add more interest to this position.
