This week’s ears in the spotlight are the next in The Main Attraction collection and they represent one of Disney’s most classic rides.
Love it or hate it, “it’s a small world” is one of the classic rides and one that always has a line. This slow moving boat ride takes guests on a 10-minute ride through different rooms with animatronic children from around the world singing “It’s a Small World (After All),” which is probably now stuck in your head (sorry). Mary Blair is known for the geometric shapes and colors used in the design of “it’s a small world.” These same shapes and colors are used on these ears and there is no mistaking what ride they represent.
The front of the ears are a purple satin material with gold piping trim and golden embroidered numbers. A pink satin material covers the back of the ears and the right ear features the 50th Anniversary logo for Disney World.
There is no bow on these ears. Instead, in between the ears is a golden cloisonné clock face, the same as on the ride. So it makes sense the clock is the centerpiece for the ears. Behind the ears is a piece that has different towers printed on it.
The headband is turquoise, with the inside being a non-slip velour material. The words “it’s a small world,” are printed on one side of the headband.
This is another cute addition to The Main Attraction collection. So if you have purchased the other ones this would be the next one on the list. Disney will release the next design on July 1 and the next attraction in the collection is Jungle Cruise.
