This week’s ears in the spotlight are an updated version of a popular pair.
This new version of the Up inspired ears still has Carl’s house and the “balloons” as part of the design, but in a new way. Disney also added the popular phrase from the movie to these ears. These are a really cute and cheery pair!
The ears on this pair are made of clear plastic. Just like the Mickey’s Runaway Railway pair, these have something in the ears. The first version had pom poms in the bow, but on this pair the pom poms are in the ears. The pom poms represent the balloons Carl used to float to Paradise Falls, so it’s fitting that one ear has a picture of his house and the other has the phrase that his wife Ellie used, “Adventure is Out There.”
The bow on these ears has a light blue and white design to look like clouds in the sky. In the middle of the bow is Grape Soda bottle cap, which was also in the middle of the bow on the first version. The fabric of the bow has a satin-like feel to it.
The headband is covered in two different fabrics. The outside fabric is the same satin-like material that covers the bow. On the inside of the headband is a purple non-slip velour material, which matches the purple in the bottle cap on the bow.
These are a really cute pair to add to a collection, especially if you have the first version. The colors on this pair are bright and the phrase “Adventure is Out There” makes all the Up fans smile. These have been on shopDisney.com for a bit now, so it doesn’t seem like they’re going anywhere anytime soon. The pair in the pictures I actually spotted at a Disney Store, which was a surprise, but I was happy to see that they were getting some ears in to sell at the store. As if I needed another reason to visit. 🙂
