Main Street Wishes Reviews: Minnie Van Service From Orlando International Airport

I’ve taken the Minnie Van service a bunch of times on property and it’s been great for getting to reservations or avoiding long bus lines at the end of the night. For my last trip I decided to try out the service from Orlando International Airport to the Caribbean Beach Resort.

This service is still fairly new, so I wanted to see if it would be worth the $150 cost. Let’s start with the basics. The Minnie Vans will seat up to 6 guests, can fit up to 8 medium-sized pieces of luggage, and can be equipped with up to 3 car seats, if needed. The $150 price tag covers one ride for up to 6 guests. So if you want to book roundtrip service for arrival and departure it will cost a total of $300. I chose just to use it for my arrival day and used Magical Express for my departure day.

Before Arrival

You have to call in order to book this service and that number is (407) 939-7529. After I booked my Minnie Van shuttle from the airport I received an email confirming my ride. In the email I was told that I would receive a call when it gets closer to my arrival. About five days before my arrival day I received another email about my reservation and one day before my trip they called to confirm and answer any questions I had. The Cast Member I spoke with was very helpful and had no trouble answering any question I had. I was told that a Cast Member would be waiting for me by baggage claim and would have a sign with my name on it.

Where to Go

When I arrived at Orlando International Airport I had no trouble finding my way to where the Cast Member was. Brandy was there, holding a sign with my name and ready to greet me with a smile. We chatted as we made our way down to were the Minnie Van was parked. Before this I had only ever taken the Magical Express from the airport, so it was interesting to see other areas and have a different experience. There were even some Disney decorations by where the Minnie Van was parked!

The Ride

In the vehicle was a tray with five bottles of water, 2 flavored sparkling waters, mints, and chocolates. Guests are encouraged to help themselves to the complimentary snacks and waters during the trip to the resort. I wasn’t expecting the tray, so that was a nice little surprise. Anytime chocolate is involved, I’m happy.

During our ride to the resort there was never a lull in conversation. We talked about my plans for the trip and Brandy had so many great suggestions and tips. I asked her about her time working with Disney and she told me all about her time there and the different departments where she has worked. It’s always interesting to me to hear a Cast Member’s experience working in Disney World, because it’s like getting a behind the scenes peak of different departments.

The ride was smooth and went by pretty quickly, because of all the fun conversation. Travel time was about 25 minutes or so. My friend took the Magical Express and hour later and I would say taking the Minnie Van was probably 10-15 minutes quicker. However, she boarded the Magical Express pretty much right when she got in line and she was the first stop. If you have to wait for the bus and your resort is the third stop, then the Minnie Van would probably save you closer to 30 minutes or so.

My experience with the Minnie Van airport shuttle service was great from start to finish. The ride was comfortable and smooth, Brandy was super friendly and helpful, and the water and treats were a nice surprise. Would I do it again? Maybe. I probably wouldn’t do it again if it’s just me traveling, maybe when my family is with me. The cost is a lot for just one person.

Is this service right for you? It depends on if you are okay spending $150 (+gratuity) per ride. If you have 3 or more people in your group and don’t want to wait on the bus, then this might be for you. The cost is quite a bit to add on to an already pricey vacation, so it’s definitely something you would want to figure into your trip planning costs beforehand.
