The updates keep coming in and, thanks to Hurricane Irma, it’s not great news. Disney has announced the parks will now close for a couple of days in response to Irma’s updated path.
According to Disney’s website, Disney World will close all theme parks early on Saturday. The parks will then remain closed until Tuesday, September 12, 2017. These closures include the water parks too. Typhoon Lagoon, which was originally going to remain open, will close on Saturday at 5 p.m. and stay closed until Tuesday as well.
In addition to the early closings and the two day closures, the nighttime spectaculars have been canceled for Saturday night. So, keep that in mind if you are going to the parks tomorrow. Disney Springs will also be closed Sunday and Monday.
Here are the times the parks will be closing on Saturday:
- Magic Kingdom and Epcot: 9 p.m.
- Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom: 7 p.m.
- Disney Springs: 9 p.m.
- Typhoon Lagoon: 5 p.m. (Blizzard Beach was already announced to be closing)
If you are traveling to Disney World soon or you are down there now, please keep an eye on the news and take the advice of the authorities. We will keep you updated with any further news regarding Hurricane Irma.
We hope everyone remains safe during this hurricane. We are thinking of you Florida!
