Today’s picture is from the show Festival of the Lion King from Animal Kingdom.
This show has been one of my favorites since the first time I saw it. It is a Broadway-style show with dancers, songs from the movie, floats with some of the characters, and the very popular Tumble Monkeys.
The show runs multiple times each day and what I love is that they involve the audience. When you walk into the theater you are directed to one of four sections. Once the show starts, each of the four main singers will go to a section and pick a volunteer. The volunteer is chosen to help lead the section in their specific animal call, because each section represents a certain animal. The different sections are lions, warthogs, elephants, and giraffes. There’s a contest to see which section is the loudest, so make sure to give it your all!
I love all the performers and the songs. It really is comparable to a Broadway show, just shrunk down to a 30 minute show. A favorite for a lot of people are the Tumble Monkeys. They are a group of very talented gymnasts who put on quite a show. Timon is also part of the show and he’s pretty fun.
Festival of the Lion King takes place in the Harambe Theater in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom. FastPasses are available for the show.
